Indonesia March – May 2012 : Jakarta Part II

Finally my last post about Indonesia 2012. And I managed this before we are going to Indonesia next month. Seeing all the pictures, reliving all the good memories. I’m ready to go back! Indonesia wait for us.

This is a picture of Jakarta skyline taken from a high storey mall.  Pretty fog? NOT! It is the air pollution.

Per entering the highway, I was shocked as to what is this guy doing in the middle of the car queque. Apparently he was selling automatic toll card, as they are socializing on using the card. But from my friend I heard it is still somewhat useless to use the automatic card since sometimes it doesnt work, the system is down etc. But nice try nevertheless.

Honeymoon Dessert. Mall Kelapa Gading 3. Jl. Boulevard Raya Kelapa Gading, Jakarta

Pancake? Yummy. How about Durian Pancake? Still Yummy.

Sari Ratu Restaurant Padang. Plaza Senayan 3F Unit 338C. Jl. Asia Afrika no. 8 Senayan, Jakarta.

Not one of the cheapest Nasi Padang, but it was finger licking good.

Eat & Eat Mall Kelapa Gading. Jl. Raya Boulevard Kelapa Gading, Jakarta.

This was the third time I’ve been to Eat & Eat. Do I like it so much that I went more than once. Well they are convinient when you want to meet many people because there are many dishes to choose from.

Miki Ojisan No Mise. Pondok Indah Mall 2 Jl. Metro Pondok Indah, Jakarta.

Red velvet cake or rainbow cake? These are one of the best I’ve tasted so far.

The market at your front door?

I showed these pictures to my cats but they weren’t impressed.

You could also order what you want for the next day  via sms.

Happy Valentine

Growing up I had the thought that Valentine is all about chocolate, roses and the like. But thesedays I feel that it’s going more towards a fabricated day. No not that I don’t love Valentine and all it’s gimmick. I’m all about the gimmick, gimme chocolate roses and all things pink any day and I’ll be a happy girl. But what I’m trying to say is that under all that pinky surface, Valentine is more than that. And although everyday should be filled with love but I think it is a great idea to have one day to celebrate love and to remind us to give extra love to those who love us.

Happy Valentine Day friends.

Indonesia March – May 2012 : Bali Part III

Warung Mak Beng. Pantai Sanur.
This place is a legendary I’m telling you. They only sell one menu only fish soup with fried fish and sambal. But always come early in the morning if you still want to get your portion of their menu since they run out very quickly.

Beautiful Sanur Beach early in the morning. I used to live like 10 minutes walk from this beach. Remember those days when I always go there in the weekend.

Bebek Bengil. Padang Tegal, Ubud.
Next up we went little bit further north to Ubud. This place is also some sort of legendary. But in my (ok our opinion, my friend and I) we prefer the traditional Surabaya style fried duck.

But the chicken caesar salad was good.

Sunrise in Sanur Beach. The mountain in the background is Mount Agung, the highest and most active volcano in Bali.

From sunrise to sunset.

Waterblow Nusa Dua. But at the time the current was too low to give us any blow at all. So sorry no pictures of the event but our pictures.

Bale Udang Mang Engking. Jl. Nakula 88 Sunset Road, Kuta.

This type of restaurant is now mushrooming in Indonesia. Usually built with traditional gazebo   urrounding a pond. With a warm ambience, it is very soothing in the middle of busy Denpasar city.

If you sees no food pictures on the night visit. Don’t be afraid, I went there again the next day with a different set of friends. See how much we love the place.

Look at the beautiful array of food. Our favorite was definitely the prawn dish on the right.
